Gujarat Vidhva Sahay Yojana : વિધવા સહાય યોજના ગુજરાત

The Gujarat Vidhva Sahay Yojana, launched in 2020, is a significant initiative by the Gujarat government to provide financial assistance to widows across the state. The scheme aims to support women who struggle to sustain their families due to the loss of their husbands, especially those from economically weaker sections. Recognizing the challenges faced by widows—such as lack of education or limited employment opportunities—the scheme ensures they receive a monthly pension to improve their quality of life and support their children’s education.

Recently, the Gujarat Vidhva Sahay Yojana has been renamed as the Ganga Swaroop Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible widows receive a monthly pension of Rs. 1,250, which is directly deposited into their bank accounts. This financial aid helps them meet basic needs, secure a healthier lifestyle, and invest in their children’s future.

Key Features of Ganga Swaroop Yojana

Monthly Pension: Beneficiaries receive Rs. 1,250 per month.

Direct Bank Transfer: The amount is credited directly to the widow’s bank account, ensuring transparency and convenience.

Wide Coverage: Approximately 3.70 lakh widows across all 33 districts of Gujarat benefit from this scheme.

Income Criteria: The Gujarat government has set annual income limits for eligibility in both rural and urban areas.
